Curse thee, Powerbook!

So something went wonky with my Powerbook, either in the power supply or the power plug in the machine itself, because it wouldn’t take any power when plugged-in. So now I’ve got two empty batteries and a dead machine. Hopefully it’s just a dead PS, which I can easily replace at work tomorrow. If not, the machine will probably need to be sent back to Apple.

You don’t realize just how valuable a portable computer is until you suddenly have it taken from you. The flexibility of being able to go anywhere in our home and be online is super, super nice, especially with a 3 month old. I also am peeved because without my Powerbook, I can’t do anything with OS X, which means LameBrain dev is stalled for the time being.

This will probably be a good exercise for me.

George likes his chicken spicy!

If you use Movable Type and are on OS X, you have to check out Kung-Log, a really smooth desktop app that lets you administrate your blog without using a web browser. I definitely like writing posts in it better than the web interface, and by using it I bypass all the stupid problems my host has with their CGI install.

LameBrain v0.1.0 released

I just uploaded a new version of LameBrain, my little LAME frontend for OS X. I also got it listed on VersionTracker, and somebody immediately posted a hostile comment. Awesome!

Anyway, you can download the new version directly from my site. I hope you dig it, and if you have requests or comments, please let me know. Thanks!

Otacon DBForms2 v0.1 released

The first official release of Otacon DBForms2, v0.1, is now available from SourceForge. This is a developers preview release, to give interested parties an idea of the direction DBForms2 is headed. It is by no means feature-complete, and the application may change dramatically before reaching 1.0 status. Please see the included TO-DO.txt file for more information on future plans.
