iCab 3 Beta Web browser released, and it supports HTML4!

iCab 3 Beta Web browser released: “The first public beta version of iCab 3 is now available for download, notes MacUpdate…”

(Via MacMinute.)

A friend of mine at CERIAS told me he loved iCab’s ability to alter Javascript functionality, but the fact that it could barely do CSS1 pretty much made it useless nowadays. It looks like things may have improved somewhat based on the recent screenshots.

I’m crapping my pants in anticipation!!!

Daring Fireball: Intel-Apple Odds and Ends: “Here’s my bet: Intel is going to produce PowerPC chips for Apple. But I’m only betting one dollar.”

I’m leaning that way too. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out, no matter how it does.

Well I’m sold!

Desktop Printer

Desktop Publishing

Want to see your printer on your Desktop? No problem. Tiger lets you create an icon of your printer and place it on your desktop for easy drag-and-drop printing. Now you can print a document without even opening it. Just drag its icon to the printer icon.

Score one for the greybeards!

Picasa 2

Anyone else played with Picasa 2? I’m really impressed. It’s fast as hell (comparing my gf’s 2.5Ghz Celeron laptop w/192MB RAM to my iBook 1Ghz G4 with 768MB RAM), very easy to work with, seems to have more editing features than iPhoto… Hell, the program even LOOKS great — better than the brushed metal of iPhoto, fer sure.

I dunno that I will be using it much, since any photo cataloging I do is on OS X, but I certainly know what I’ll be recommending to others who run Windows exclusively.

When good interfaces go crufty

When good interfaces go crufty

Interesting article on old-skool workarounds in interface design that have become accepted, even though technology advancements have removed the need for them.
