C64 color palette for Photoshop and Fireworks

c64.gifFor my new C64-inspired Wordpress theme, I really wanted to use authentic colors and characters. I used Power64, a C64 emulator for PPC, to generate the block graphics characters that were unique to Commodore machines. For the colors, I made a 16-color palette from an image I found on Alex Kazik’s site that included the 16 colors supported by the C64. Now I can use this palette to convert full-color images to 16-color ones that have a C64 “look.”

If you’re interested, you can download the .act palette. It should work fine with Photoshop and Fireworks.
